The Food Pantry is sustained by nine churches in eastern Mecosta County. With wide community participation in food drives and funding, the pantry served 1015 households in 2014. That is an increase of 65 households. The Pantry serves a wide geographical area, impacting 23 communities. In 2014, the highest levels of need were Mecosta, Barryton, Remus, Big Rapids, Morley, Stanwood and Rodney. God's Helping Hands receives no federal or state funding. Donations are tax-deductible. We are a community taking care of our neighbors.
In 2014, God's Helping Hands received 7119 pounds of food donated by our Communities of Faith. An additional 4,928 pounds of food were donated by other individuals. In total 139,252 pounds of food came from our Communities of Faith and our Community Coalition Partners and Friends. More than 15,800 volunteer hours served our mission.
Please patronize the Resale Store as it provides 72% of the funding for God's Helping Hands. The Store is open to all, pricing is kept low to serve low income people, but you can pay whatever you think is a fair price.
